OVERPRICED. Every single tour I booked would have been 15-20% cheaper had I booked locally, from train rides to tours. Not only that, if you book locally, you get better times & more flexibility from operators. When I asked why, everyone said it's b/c Viator charges up to 35% in fees. No one likes dealing w/ them. WORSE: If you cancel, they hold your money for WEEKS, not DAYS. Customer service is a useless! Use the app for research at best, but DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM if you want the best deal.

it was a very informative tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area around the palace as well as in the palace. There was a line at security but it went fast. We did go through the shorter line for tour operators vs. the general public line. The tour guides voice is directed into a device you wear around your neck along with disposable headphones. If you have higher quality headset with standard 3.5mm jack, you would be able to hear better.

I've been trying this and the Getyourguide app for a few days for an upcoming trip. They both seem about the same, except one MAJOR positive about the Getyourguide app is that it shows the meeting point of the event. You shouldn't buy any event without knowing this because it can cost a whole lot to get from one place to another, depending on distance. Not to mention making it on time. I'm surprised this app has overlooked something so crucial. Especially with that being an issue in reviews.

Love the 3.9.5 version of the app, it gives all of the same info as the website with a great layout. All of the updates are trash. You're best bet is to get the apk of the previous version of the app, otherwise searching for tours on your phone will not be worth it. Oh yeah, and the tours I've booked have gone well, this is just a review of the app.

The excursions you can book through the app are great, but the app itself appears to have been designed by the dumbest programmers willing to work for minimum wage. You can't search a term and then go through the different results, you'll have to do a fresh search for each result you want to investigate. The app is consistently counterintuitive and difficult to use

Doesn't work properly. Appears ok until attempting to book; then it stops functioning. Tried two different tours, and it would Not record pick up hotel in either case. Used computer to perform operation via Internet instead. And then it doesn't transfer info to app. App needs much more work Note: I did get it to work after a few days, so it was ok for booking. It does Not give complete details of potential tours. Best to use a computer for details. App only useful (after functional) after book

Only 22 things in my whole state, 14 of them being scavenger hunts, 4 being transportation to the (same) airport, and the rest being 5 minute stop and go sites. Restaurants are all pretty much just a list you can get from Google maps with some that don't even show up. You're much better off talking to locals to find out what's worth doing in the area you're visiting. Terrible, not worth the bandwidth it took to download.

Seems like a great business idea, but the app is terrible. There is no quick button for submitting feedback, and it is impossible to search for a certain type of activity narrowed to a specific geographic region (e.g. to search for a fly-fishing experience in Seattle you have to scroll through all the hundreds of activities in Seattle). Seems like they could easily use an LLM to cluster activities by type and physicality to make finding something better.

Rating service/site & not app. Results were not accurate/helpful. Rapid city & Mt Rush. are 6+ hrs away from my search location, there is NO need to "skip the line" at a place there's NEVER a line, and scavenger hunts for a fee are dumb when a scav.hunt. there is already free. These are not good/cool tours/activities/events. The proximity, quality, & quantity (only 5 results) are very disappointing. Also, feedback box on site doesn't work, so I had to download app to give feedback at all. 😡

I have used Viator many times, but my experience today was definitely not a positive one. The private tour says we can choose 4 destinations from the list of destinations in the "What To Expect" area, but no such list exists. I called Viator and had a very difficult time getting the agent to understand the issue. Finally, after explaining things several times, the agent contacted the tour company for clarification. No response via phone or email. Terrible service! I expect more from Viator.

Nice place to find a lot of options, but thats it. Booked multiple excursions for a trip based on "reserve now, pay later" premise. Canceled/changed a few, well within their free cancelation period. Was still charged for the canceled excursions and then refunded but not until DAYS later. Also, the search feature is trash. And once you've booked your tour, you can no longer see the details of it (duration, etc) I had to message the tour operators multiple times bc Info disappears once booked

Shaywan F

Don't use them. They do not provide the meet up location details before booking. Once booked, then the meet up location provided which is usually confusing and I missed an expensive tour that I arrived 30 minutes early for because of how confusing it was; others missed the same tour as well. Do not use viator or their app. Only use other apps that will provide clear meet up details before booking. Their customer service is a joke

This app is full of information, but not useful information. The pop-ups are spamming with a lot of offers. To get the information for the trip it takes forever, it is acting like a small browser with really bad connection on the internet. Not counting the fact that my information was sold in the very first second to the third parties, otherwise why I get a lot of YouTube, Facebook and WORSE phone calls now regarding vacations under Viator?

Avoid this app at all cost. We went to Amsterdam especially to see the Van Gogh museum. Booked tickets through this app they cancelled our tickets due to a 'technical difficulty' literally the night before. Totally unacceptable! To say we were disappointed was an understatement. They also didn't sort to refund without me asking, it did get sorted eventually but because it was cancelled so late we didn't even has the money back to do an alternative tour. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Lisa Meagher

Love this app! It's so convenient to book tours and have free cancellation available. All bookings information is stored in the app and tickets were available off-line. Great for travelling in remote areas without data coverage or wifi available and you also earn rewards with each tour booked.

Booked the Silent Disco through Viator, payment taken yesterday...went upto Edinburgh today, headed to 3 Hunter's Square, as per booking details, to be advised by staff, it used to be here but moved to The Meadows. We couldn't make it on time. I replied to their email, but it came back as not found. So at the moment I have paid £55 for 3 tickets, which due to no fault of ours, were unable to attend, I do have screenshots of the confirmation. Not impressed and wouldn't recommend.

An absolute scam. The Pompeii tour took over $150 of mine and refused to do as their ad said, which is hotel pickup. They had me send them my hotel address, said pickup confirmed for the next morning, and then refused the morning of. They wouldn't give me an address for meet-up either. And then told me they were leaving me and weren't giving a refund. Absolute scam. Viator support has been no help and has been just as rude.

Angela Nichols

Glitchy app. Don't use Viator. The app works sporadically. It will tell you that the payment didn't go through and to try again. In reality, they will just have you make multiple bookings and then refuse to refund the duplicates. What a waste of time when you're traveling. Airbnb experiences are a much better option.

Michael Cope

I'm so impressed with anyone who can drive in Mexico City and my driver was great on time to pick me up at my hotel which means alot to me. once at teotihuacan I was met by my guide Alex who was so knowledgeable and also from the area. I would book this trip again if I could have Alex as a guide. Take some Pesos I thought my entry was included in my tour and they only take cash for entry 99 pesos cheap. once in if you want to buy souvenir everyone takes cards.

Kenzie Pohl

The app was just horrible. The morning right before our appointment they cancelled it and made the excuse that the lifts were not working, which is not true because we had a hotel looking out right next to the effect tower and he were watching the lifts go up, but also he didn't have the lift booked we had the stairs booked so it just didn't make sense. Also a few days before it was cancelled we had the top floor booked and cancelled that also and put it too only the second floor.
